Procurement Policy

Capita has an annual expenditure on goods and services in excess of £600m. The way we manage our procurement and supply chain is increasingly important to our profitability, reputation and corporate social responsibility objectives.

We recognise that good procurement practice can directly enhance our business performance by securing best value goods and services against favourable commercial and contractual terms.

Capita is committed to conducting its procurement activities in a manner that:

Meets the highest ethical standards, and is compliant with relevant legislation, best practice and Capita policies.

Maximises our spending power by aggregating demand and establishing Group-wide contracts and framework agreements wherever possible.

Promotes and maximises the use of Capita businesses, internal service providers and Group Framework contracts.

Delivers the best value in terms of price, quality and specification of products and services to both internal and external customers.

Upholds and applies Capita's Environmental, Corporate Social Responsibility and Equality and Diversity aims and objectives.

Allows for accurate reporting of 3rd party spend and savings analysis, as well as supplier information to ensure that corporate, financial and CSR targets and objectives can be met.

Recognises professional procurement as a significant contributor to enhancing business performance

The Group Board fully endorse this policy and monitor procurement performance through a range of measures including savings delivered and compliance. This policy is owned by the Group Procurement Director, who is responsible for its implementation and periodic review. It is supported by the Procurement Policy Framework which is available on the Group Procurement pages of the intranet.

Where Capita is undertaking procurement on behalf of customers it is still important that the principles of this policy are followed, and that spend and supplier information is reported.
